The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), located in Cambridge, is renowned for its teaching and research in math, science, and engineering. In the 2009-2010 academic year, MIT enrolled 4,232 undergraduate and 6,152 graduate students, and employed approximately 1,000 faculty members. The university is proud to have produced the winners of 76 Nobel Prize and 50 National Medals of Science.

Campus Life

Of the five political campus groups, three are liberal and two are conservative.

The liberal campus groups are the Young Democratic Socialists, College Democrats, and Queer Women Looking for Life in Tech School.

The conservative campus groups are the College Republicans and MIT Pro-Life, affiliated with CampusReform.org's Campus Leadership Program, which provides groups with advice, assistance, and many kinds of support.
